Signature Networking Event

A Business After Hours, or BAH, is an exclusive networking and social event to help create business contacts and gain exposure for members of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber. Held one Thursday a month from 4 PM to 6 PM, BAHs promote awareness of new member businesses in a fun, social, and interactive atmosphere after work hours.

Benefits

By hosting a BAH, your business can:

  • Introduce your business to Chamber members;

  • Familiarize Chamber members with your product or service;

  • Familiarize Chamber members with your location;

  • Generate possible leads and sales from attendees.


Host Responsibilities

The Host will be responsible for:

  • Experience: Provide a fun atmosphere with interactive activities, prizes, music.

  • Parking: Accommodate for ample parking or alternative approved offsite parking.

  • Event Space: Private area, indoors or covered outdoors, for a minimum of 100 attendees and a registration area for Chamber staff to collect admittance fees.

  • Food & Beverage: Finance, coordinate, and supply an adequate amount of complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Must obtain ABC license for serving, listing the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce and Host business name on application.

  • Sound System: Sufficient amplification for announcements, Host remarks, and drawing door prizes provided by the Host and Co-Host.

Chamber Responsibilities

Chamber staff will gladly:

  • Provide guidance on event coordination and promote the event to the membership in print and electronic communications, as well as on social media;

  • Contact the Host at least three months prior to the scheduled event to determine a date to be selected for the BAH, not in conflict with other Chamber events;

  • Receive RSVPs and provide Host with projected attendance figure at least 48 hours prior to the event;

  • Supply Host with copies of all business cards collected after the event;

  • Manage all registration operations, including staff support for collecting event admittance fees, new member sign-in, and business card collection.
    All registration admittance fees collected will be considered revenue of the Chamber and is not shared with the Host.
