Greater Williamsburg Business Council Launches COVID Kind Campaign
Williamsburg, VA — The Greater Williamsburg Business Council is launching a new COVID Kind campaign to promote health in Greater Williamsburg.
Throughout the month of September, Business Council staff will be visiting members at their place of business to catch individuals wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and using hand sanitizer. Anyone who has been “caught” will receive a sticker, thanking them for keeping the community safe. They will also be enter to win a gift basket filled with items from local businesses. The drawing will be held via Facebook Live on Friday, October 2. Businesses that are found following these and other safety precautions will also be given a “COVID Kind Business” window cling.
“As a business community, it is vital to empower everyone to be actively engaged in health and safety during the pandemic,” said Terry Banez, CEO of the Business Council. “We are elated to kick off the COVID Kind campaign as an interactive way to highlight businesses and individuals who are committed to being COVID Kind.”
The Business Council is also thrilled to partner with LEAD Greater Williamsburg, whose recent WMBG Kind project promoted kindness and compassion across the region.
“The LEAD Class of 2019 launched a successful campaign with the goal of spreading kindness in the community through simple acts of service,” said Carolyn Keurajian, Chair of LEAD. “The hope was that these acts would have a ripple effect throughout our community. In the wake of COVID-19, there could be no better time to revisit the ideals of this project. Be kind by wearing a mask, washing your hands, and social distancing as best you can. LEAD alumni look forward to catching you in the act!”
