With more than two dozen locations throughout the Greater Williamsburg area, the Little Free Library initiative offers residents the opportunity to read, donate, and exchange books on a small scale.

ASPIRE is currently accepting book donations throughout March with drop-off boxes at the Business Council office and both Alewerks Brewing Company locations. Those who donate books through the collection bins at Alewerks will receive 10% their purchase.

“It is ASPIRE’s hope that the Little Free Library will inspire readers, bring joy, and strengthen our Greater Williamsburg community,” noted Amber Saloka, Chair of the ASPIRE Young Professionals Committee. “We are thrilled to facilitate this amazing ongoing project that will continue to be a part of ASPIRE’s legacy for years to come.”

The site for ASPIRE’s Little Free Library is still being determined. Installation is expected to take place during the second quarter of 2021.

Beginning in March of 2020, ASPIRE shifted its approach and started hosting virtual professional development webinars and happy hours as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The group also recognizes the challenge of “zoom fatigue” with hopes of hosting smaller, in-person events later this year. Visit the ASPIRE website for information on membership and upcoming events.
